Éric Samarut gained his PhD degree in Molecular Aspects of Life Sciences in 2013 from Université de Strasbourg in France. In 2014, he joined the Research Institute of the Université de Montreal Hospital Center, where he established a new field of research that aimed at performing functional genomics of neurological and metabolic disorders using zebrafish, which identified new pathogenic mechanisms. Eventually, his work could pave the way for new therapeutic strategies for these diseases. More particularly, he foresees the use of patient-specific zebrafish models to develop precision medicine. Driven by a desire to fast-track scientific innovation, Éric also pursued an MBA specialized in Sciences and Engineering, thus broadening his view of the research industry.
